Ex-boxers Baer and Rosenbloom were teamed for a series of comedy shorts in the early 1950's, leaving one of the rarest of the Columbia series to track down.

THE CHAMPS STEP OUT (11/15/51) D: Edward Bernds. Emil Sitka, Jean Willes. Ralph Volkie, Dave Stan. Having returned from an expedition in Asia Minor, a millionaire hires the two Maxes, operators of the Kayo Detective Agency, to guard his rare discoveries.

WINE, WOMEN AND BONG (2/22/51) D: Jules White. Christine McIntyre, Jean Willes, Nanette Bordeaux, Johnny Kascier, Charles Heine Conklin. Telling their wives that they have to work late, the two Maxes sneak off to a nightclub.

ROOTIN TOOTIN TENDERFEET (2/14/52) D: Jules White. Jean Willes. The boys are out west, looking for an heiress to whom they have to deliver a deed. TRIVIA: A re-working of Laurel and Hardy's WAY OUT WEST (1937). The original working title was WESTWARD HOKUM
